Paper, ferry and RoRo
PLU Papier- Lager- und Umschlaggesellschaft mbH (PLU) and Ferry Stevedoring Rostock GmbH (FSR) specialize in the handling of paper rolls, ferry and RoRo cargo on Pier I at the port of Rostock. The direct rail and road connections enable a speedy supply and dispatch of the goods.
PLU owns 3 storehouses with more than 30,000 m² floor space used especially for the storage of high-grade forest products like printing paper and cellulose. Currently PLU handles approx. 350,000 tons of paper rolls per year from Scandinavia, Germany, France and Austria. Next to paper imports from Finland there are regular shipments to the United States and Great Britain.
PLU is equipped with the latest scanner technology, state-of-the-art stackers, clamps, tugmaster, RoRo trailers and cassette systems both for the paper handling as well as for the servicing of ferry lines and the handling of conventional RoRo cargo.
Ferry Stevedoring Rostock GmbH commenced business on 1 March 2010 and specializes in the servicing of ferry lines. FSR acts, i.a. as stevedoring company for the TT-Line and the Finnlines shipping company which runs its ro-pax vessels three times a week from Rostock to Helsinki via Gdynia.
FSR and PLU are certified to ISO 9001:2008.
